As I Move East

As I Move East

As I’m packing up my life into boxes and bags, I pause for a moment of reflection, the mirror is so full of memories these days, the past never gets too far away, looking through some old photos, that summer of 2003 when I spent every day with a fly rod in my hand, the year before when I was a confused young man so close to losing my mind, I escaped the madness, only to realize those may be the events that forged my life, the current keeps rushing by, just last night I was listening to wolves howl in my back yard, tomorrow I will be listening to tires scream beneath my feet, there is a rhythm to my lack of repetition, and only change can keep the beat, my life’s circumstances have generated this transient being, things come and go and that is all I know, I require the refreshment of spontaneity, the images before my eyes are irrelevant to me,  my vision is focused on a place much deeper inside, a voyage through my own mind leads me to places I thought had been forgotten…
